1989年6月4日，天安門事件。
1989年11月9日，柏林圍牆倒塌，
同年11月17日捷克斯洛伐克的「絲絨革命」，
以不流血的和平方式推翻了捷共政權，
1989年，沿著流過莫斯科的河流Moskva，
走向高爾基公園的Scorpions主唱Klaus Meine，
似乎感受到世界局勢山雨欲來風滿樓的走向，而寫下了這首歌。
1990年，出身德國的Scorpions發行他們的專輯Crazy World時，這首歌並沒有造成世人太多的注意。
1990年10月3日，德意志民主共和國（東德）加入德意志聯邦共和國，德國和柏林完成統一。
1991年Scorpions獲蘇聯總理戈巴契夫晉見。
同年12月25日，俄羅斯聯邦國旗在克里姆林宮正式升起，蘇聯乃正式瓦解。
Wind Of Change在那個風起雲湧的年代，見證了世界局勢的動盪，
唱出了自由民主的風，在翻轉著世界局面。
而這首歌順勢因著當時國際政治局勢的轉變，成了蘇聯瓦解，冷戰結束的代表歌曲，
是當時大家所喜愛的終戰國歌。
2007年，再次聽著這首歌，即使已經過了十幾年，雖然已經很熟悉旋律，
欲因著MV裏的演唱會的點點煙火棒、Klaus Meine的口哨聲、柏林圍牆倒塌、國際政治的關鍵時刻
，而產生了新的觸動，似乎能夠感受到這首歌在當時造成的轟動。
一首歌不只表達了個人感情，更傳達了這個時代、集體人類共同的思潮、渴求。
